So you’re
probably wondering whatever happened to my e-mail that I sent to Barnes and
Noble requesting assistance for marketing on our collection Ten Brides for Ten Heroes.

Well, I wrote
and asked if they could give us a bit of help because we felt we had a good
product that just needed a boost so our sales would reflect the same success
that we’d enjoyed on Amazon.

And I’m
ecstatic to be able to inform you that within twenty-four hours, I received
this letter:

We’ve alerted our
merchandising team about the boxed set, which sounds wonderful, and it will be
included in a promotion in August. We will feature it in a collection that is
promoted via email to our NOOK customers.

I can’t tell
you how happy I was. They also read my blog post and wanted me to share this
with you.

We review the requests
carefully and make recommendations to merchandising, but our booksellers
determine which titles receive placement. You have a great boxed set that we
are happy to give a push.

Which means –
if you feel you have a good product as well make sure and let them know about your
book. nookpress@nook.com Tell them a bit more about it than just the title. It helps of you
provide all the information such as the link to the page on B&N, and other
information such as if it’s a new release. And if not, the number of reviews. Even
the sales ranking on some of the other venues so they can see if it’s popular
elsewhere and therefore has potential to sell better on B&N with a bit of
help.

And do take
a minute to like their Facebook page and leave a comment to say hello. This was
what they wrote to me which made me realise that they did read the page. https://www.facebook.com/NOOKPress

Thanks also for the
nice comment on Facebook. It’s always great to hear from our publishing

Now I’m off to write a post for their blog and see if I can attract their attention. I think it would be a hoot to be a guest with them. Remember it was a part of their presentation: Guest posts – pitches welcome.
Wish me luck!!!
I'm glad you're receiving some help from B & N. I wish I could report the same. But the fact is that despite having one book ranked as high as #24 in the Kindle bookstore, and with six titles altogether (including a boxed set of my own), I received NO HELP whatsoever from B & N and had sales in the low single digits during the two years I had my books in Nook. So yesterday I unpublished my six Nook books and instead enrolled them in the Kindle Select Plan. I find that Amazon does a great deal to promote its authors, and I have received (and friends, too) numerous emails touting my books. I hope you do well, however, and sell a gazillion of your boxed sets. Best of luck!! 🙂
Thanks for your comment, Joe. I'm sorry you had such a bad experience with B&N. I'm hoping that with their help, I'll have a different result. Good luck with Select. I'm a bit cautious about the Unlimited program they've kicked in and would love to hear your views once you've settled back into the Amazon groove. 🙂
