~Happy Thanksgiving ~
I wanted to take this time to wish you all a very warm and sincere HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
It’s been a strange year for me. Yet I have much to be thankful for, things I’d like to share with you.
I lost my mom in June, and you’d think that would be a sad happening. Except that her condition was so poorly that we’re thankful she’s at peace now. The sadness only comes when I think of the way she used to be – I miss that woman dreadfully. But… I’m also thankful that she was a huge, wonderful part of my life for so many years.
My Dad is going to be ninety-three years old in Dec, and I’m so very thankful he’s still with us. I’m sad that he has so many challenges in his life now; being that old comes with a lot of limitations. He’s fallen so many times this year; he’s started talking about a motorised wheelchair. Considering he’s almost… keep in mind I said ALMOST blind, we’re a bit concerned for the other seniors in his lodge and slightly worried about the walls and doors. But, he has his sense of humor, he’s still very sharp, and he’s the most gentle, sweet man I know.
I’m thankful that each day I’m reminded that the old back just isn’t at limber as it used to be, yet it’s still tough. That my hands aren’t as strong, but can still do what I demand of them. My knees remind me of my age, yet Yoga has kept them sturdy. Most of all, my memory lets me down often for goofy things like names and movies, but… it’s amazing the stuff I do remember when I’m at the computer.
What more can one ask, when those around us have trials with health and happenings outside of their power to change…. sigh!
Therefore, my hope for you, my friend, is to have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and I pray you have many things to be thankful for, too.
