For me and my family, this is the season that we go all out, spend way too much money and have one heck of a lot of fun. It’s our time to say – the hell with everything – let’s celebrate. We’re all here and we’re all happy and healthy.
Only this year, there’s one of us who isn’t doing as well as we expected a few days ago. And that’s been making me feel so sad… until I called him today. Then my 93 year-old dad, who was taken to the hospital a week ago and is still there, cracked silly jokes, argued with me that he wasn’t being cheeky, he was just feeling so much better than he’d felt over the last few days when we’d begun to fear the worst.
WOW!! I can’t tell you the relief I felt. I wanted to jump up and down and yell hallelujah – Johnny’s back!!! (That’s actually his name 🙂
So now – with a heart full of gladness and a spirit ready to enjoy the coming season – I want to wish you all the same happiness I feel.
In case I don’t tell you enough – I really appreciate you, my readers and friends. I know I haven’t been too prolific about my blog posts this last year – life tends to kick in with personal situations and deadlines have to be met – which force me to let some things fall by the wayside.
But I miss the good times I’ve shared with you and will try to make this a new year’s resolution… to do better. I guess that’s all we can ask of ourselves – right?
From my heart to yours – have the best Christmas ever, surrounded by family and friends, love and warmth and… happiness. May all your dreams come true in 2018!
Hugs,
Mimi
