As I finished off my month-end spreadsheet last night, as usual, I caught up on reading some of my reviews. And I was incredibly touched by many left for me on the 6 books for “Her Sweet Revenge Series” and in particular the first book called Retaliation.
I’ve always believed the books I wrote about Cassidy Santino were some of my best work… maybe I should clarify… some of my most enjoyable plotting. I’m not sure this makes sense but there were times I was so deeply embedded in my imagination that it seemed to me the words wrote themselves. My fingers were just the method of transferring them to the page.
Weird, right?
But true.

“This book is a terrific beginning to the story of Cassi out to revenge the killing of her twin brother. Her involvement with Trace is fraught with tension as he wants to protect her, but she is determined to track down the killer. They spend a lot of time together and have both difficult and tender moments. Cassi finds out she has more strength than she thought, both inner fortitude and physical strength as a boxer. It’s great when she kicks ass! It is also especially tender when Cassi and Trace begin to fall in love. He’s conflicted because he’s investigating the murder of her brother and can’t be involved with her while the case is open. But their love is too strong for that to stop them from giving in to their desire to have beautiful sex. The book ends with some of the story still remaining to be told but is very satisfying as a standalone part of a bigger story.”

“I confess that I purchased this book a while back and am just now getting around to reading it. The blurb captured my attention but the length of the book made me wait until I had time to read it through. I’m glad I waited since I sure didn’t want to put it down once I started. Cassidy is a “good” girl who finds that when tested she has a backbone of steel and the determination to see things through. The death of her brother really brings her out. Trace is the detective on her brother’s case and doesn’t need anymore havoc in his life. They will work together to solve the crime and bring justice but there are obstacles to overcome — some from the enemy and some from each other. I enjoyed the growth both Cassidy and Trace experienced during the course of the story and of course their steamy relationship. Fast paced, with danger and stress, a great read that you won’t want to stop until you’ve finished – you’ve been warned – plan to read it through.”

“How has Mimi Barbour got past my genre addiction for fast pace, action, thrills and spills type reads? I don’t know, but now that I have found her, I am never letting go. Alpha males and kick ass girls in a well written novel that I couldn’t put down. Thank you Mimi, next in series already downloaded.”

I could go on and on. Especially when I read the ones written for the other books in the series.
Three of the six books had well over 50 reviews and the ratings were 4.8 out of 5. Now that had me strutting for hours. 😊
