– On July 17, 2012, Kobo launched a self-publishing platform called Kobo Writing Life. Key features of Kobo Writing Life include “deep analytics”, allowing authors to track sales in real time; a “learning center” to guide newcomers in digital publishing; and allowing an author to sell books globally. By July 2014, 250,000 books written by 30,000 authors have been published through this program; these authors originate from 157 countries and have books published in 69 languages.
Kobo Writing Life – the publishing part of Kobo is a Canadian company, out of Toronto, and I must say as a Canuck, I had a proud reaction when I heard the statistics and how far they’ve come in just two short years.
As you know,
my last three blogs were focussed on Barnes & Noble and how I came to better
understand their policies.
Well, I want
you to know that during the time I spent at the Romance Writers of America’s National
Convention in San Antonio, my policy was for equal opportunity time sharing.
Which means – I also took in the presentation given by Mark Lefebvre to introduce
Kobo and their services.

After he spoke, I went up and introduced myself to Mark and explained
about our box collection – Ten Brides for Ten heroes – and he gave me his card
and suggested I write to him and the staff who are dedicated to helping authors
become successful on Kobo.
Of course I
did. And – he answered my e-mail and was very helpful with information and I believe we now have our
book scheduled for a daily deal.
