I just finished my latest book called Special Agent Jennie and admit to wondering if the overall plot would be satisfying for readers. If handled with enough diplomacy, would people see where the line had to be drawn and the law had to step in?
Over the last few years, I’ve seen numerous stories in the news about domestic terrorist groups throughout the world and even saw the outcome of insurrections, rallies, and shootings because of the hate some people have in their hearts for others. It made me sad, and I wondered if I could handle such a sensitive and yet unacceptable happening properly. I didn’t want to turn off good folks who might have their own specific views about this subject. It’s the right of passage in a democratic way of life.
So, I tried to leave the reader with the understanding I hold in my heart. That the red line must be held in the case of violence… any kind… every time.
In my story, that line is about to be crossed and my characters are left to deal with the outcome.
