I love knowing I can legally celebrate this day. You see, many years ago, before I became pregnant, I was told the likelihood of that miracle was very slight. I had given up and just accepted that my beautiful niece, who came to live with us because of her mother’s sickness, might be my only chance to ever mother anyone.
But… that old adage about adopting a child and then getting pregnant soon after worked for me. I was dotty over my ten-year-old little giggle-puss. And… I’m positive because of her presence, my hormones woke up inside my brain and heart. The next thing I knew, I was six weeks along and floating at least a foot off the ground… actually drove up on a sidewalk, when leaving the doctor’s office after I heard the news.
Of course, nowadays, when he’s being a brat, I blame it all on my niece. He’s your fault I tell her, and they both chuckle. He just had his forty-second birthday and she’s fifty-five.
To celebrate the occasion, I have two free audio books to give away to the first people who email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. (Special Agent Murphy & Special Agent Makayla)
Also, my book, He’s My Baby, is free until the 15th. http://mybook.to/hesmybaby (Free in Kindle Unlimited)
