So, there I was surrounded by a huge number of authors, sitting at a dinner during an RWA conference, when the speakers (mostly editors for Traditional publishers) were telling the crowd that right then, mob crime suspense was hot.

I had begun writing romantic suspense with my Vegas Series and had found my niche. I loved creating stories that were full of conflicts, sassy heroines, and filled with sizzling romance. Add in humor and fast-paced action, and I was in my element.

I’ll admit those words resonated and I decided I could write a book with that theme. So, I began plotting a mob-crime story which ended up as six and became the Her Sweet Revenge Series. Those books just spilled out, and I loved writing every word. I suspect the readers have enjoyed them too because I still have three in the series rating 4.8 out of 5. Yep – that means the readers like them. (Thank you, Lord!)

In the first book – Retaliation – I visualized a naïve, young woman called Cassidy Santino who follows her twin brother one night. Worried because he’s been hanging with the wrong crowd, she overcomes her fear and sees something that changes her life forever.
